You Can't Train Your Way Out
Okay, so if willpower's a myth, maybe you just need to train your focus, brain games, working-memory apps, the stuff marketed exactly to people like us.
Here's the honest result: those programs make you better at the game. That's it. The gains don't transfer to real life, not to focus, not to school, not to work. When ADHD-specific brain-training did show results, they traced back to non-specific things (the encouragement, the coach's attention) rather than the training itself. So "just strengthen the weak muscle" is a second dead end. The deficit isn't a muscle you've been failing to lift. Which leaves exactly one move that actually works, and it's the opposite of what you've been told.
